What I'm Working on WEDNESDAYS

What I’m Working on WEDNESDAYS

When I attend a market I like to give a little something to the people that stop by my table.  Whether it’s just for a chat or they purchase one of my items. These are the “little something” I’ve been handing out lately.

lifesavers

Using Thick Whisper White Card Stock cut at 2″ x 4″ and scored at 3 1/4″ on the 4″ side, I stamped the flower image from the April 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit in several colors to match the color of the Lifesavers.  The colors I use are Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, Cherry Cobbler and Calypso Coral.

The sentiment is from Eastern Beauty stamped in black ink.  The Lifesaver is attached with a staple and the little card is folded match book style.  To prevent injury from the staple on the back side, I cover that with a sticker that has my name and phone number.

So quick to make and cheap advertising 🙂

Today was time to play with some embossing paste!  I thought I would try it out on Poppy Parade.

may 6 2019

The base of this card is Shaded Spruce.  On Poppy Parade I applied White Embossing Paste using a Palette Knife.

The decorative mask is a retired one.  On Very Vanilla I stamped one of the trees from Rooted in Nature using Early Espresso Classic Ink. This was die cut with one of trees from Nature’s Roots Framelits.  I didn’t like the way it cut so I filled in some areas using the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker.

Friend is from Well Written Framelits Dies cut in Shaded Spruce to round out the design.

What I’m Working On Wednesdays

This week Mother Nature has been playing with us around these parts.  Snow in the morning which is all melted by lunch time.  This happened Saturday, Monday and Today.  Saturday when I was at the farmers market I had parked in a rather dry area.  By the time it was time to pack up my car was in a bit of a flood.  My feet got sooked up to my ankles which was not a comfortable 30 minute drive home.  Wonder what tomorrow will bring.

For the market on Saturday I’m working on some post-it note frames and bookmarks.  The frames are completed.  The post-it notes read “Create your own Sunshine”. Love that saying.    IMG_5660 (3)

Bookmarks, I’m a little stuck design wise.  Any ideas you would like to share with me??

Manly Mondays

Last week while making a card for Manly Mondays I had a heck of a time getting the design just right so I never got to make a post.  It was just one of those days.  This week I decided to use “Seize the Day” and do a similar card to what is on page 157.  Sadly this set will not be returning in the upcoming June 4th catalog.

April 29 2019

The base is Bermuda Bay.  On a layer of Water Color Paper I stamped the images using Mossy Meadow, Bermuda Bay, Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz.  When I stamped the meadow and deer image I used a watercolor brush to inhance the color.  The small banner punch was used in the right hand upper corner to give the layer a little depth.

For as long as I have been making cards I’ve never made a shaker card.  Today I thought I would give it a try.  It was so easy it has me wondering why I never attempted it before.

The base is Smoky Slate.  I cut a piece of Blueberry Bushel to measure 4″ x 5 1/4″.  That piece was run through the Big Shot with  one of the large rectangles from Rectangle Stitched Framelits.  Using the Simple Stripes Embossing folder I ran it through the Big Shot again.

Two pieces of Window Sheet were cut to 3 3/4 ” x 4 3/4″.  I attached one of those with Tear & Tape and surrounded it with Foam Adhesive Strips.  Added the sequins and adhered the second piece of Window Sheet.  A little note: polish the window sheet with a dry paper towel to remove any finger prints.  Before adding it to the base of Smoky Slate with dimensionals I stamped one the balloons from Balloon Celebrations in both Smoky Slate and Blueberry Bushel.

Once that was all put together I die cut the Happy Birthday Thinlit using Blueberry Bushel DSP.  This was adhered to the front using little dots of Multi Purpose Glue.

It’s quite stricking in real life and the sound is makes when shook can be a little too much entertaining.

What I’m Working on WEDNESDAYS

That heavy cardboard that comes with some of our Designer Paper is a must keep !!  I’ve been saving quite a few (ha ha, more like a truck load) and came up with this little idea.

IMG_5543 (3)

I cut the cardboard in four quarters giving me 4 pieces.  It is a little hard to cut since it is so thick.  I covered both sides with Designer Paper then sponged corresponding colors around the edges to give it a nice finish.

The white paper is plain photocopy paper.  I stamped the first sheet with images from Colorful Season.  All the other sheets were stamped with Just a Note from Home to Roost.  A Gold Library Clip was used to attached about 30 sheets.  It’s about all it can hold.  A small pen was added as a feature selling point. By the way, the color of the pen is the color of the ink. I’m selling these starting this Saturday at the Spruce Grove Farmers Market from 9:30 to 1:30PM.   Located at 120 Railway Avenue.  I’ve also been working on some Easter projects that I will feature next week.

Until Next Time !!
