Manly Mondays

Manly Mondays

I have so much designer paper I’ve challenged myself to use up a lot of it before the end of the year.  With this card I’m using some Always Artichoke (retired).  IMG_5053 (3)

The base is Cherry Cobbler, one of my favorite colors.  On a piece of Crumb Cake I stamped the tree trunks from Winter Woods with Early Espresso Classic Ink.  I then mixed alcohol and White Shimmer Paint in a spray bottle and sprites that on top of it.  The Congrats was die cut in Early Espresso and Champagne Foil paper using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and adhered on top just a bit off to give it some contrast.  The leaves were cut with the In The Woods Framelits Die which were glued with a tough of Multi Purpose glue – that I refer to as “green glue” because of the cap.  Braided Linen Trim was added to give it a little bit more texture.  This Trim is fast becoming a favorite !

Perfect card for that male student that did well on a report.

Manly Mondays

Manly Mondays

I’m bringing back Manly Mondays.  Many of us struggle to make male cards.  I hope you will get some inspiration on Mondays with this post and future ones.  I celebrated 10 years with Stampin’ Up at the beginning of August which was a month of much relaxation and time off.  I’ve been wanting to experiment with Aluminum foil for quite some time and kept putting it off.

For this card I took a piece of white card stock and glued aluminum foil to it prior to running it through the Big Shot with the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder feature on page 13 in the 2018 Holiday Catalog.

The foil I used it quite thin so I had to be delicate in handling it.  Prior to adhering it to a base of Gray Granite Cardstock I wrapped Black 3/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon – so glittery – to give semblance to a gift.  Using the Stitched Shapes Framelits I did a black layer and on the Whisper White layer stamped the sentiment from Country Home in Gray Granite.

Hope this brought you some inspiration to make a card for a special male in your life.

Laminated Notebooks

Just finished making 3 designs of laminated notebooks that will be available starting tomorrow at the Stony Plain Farmers Market at $5 each.

laminated all 3

The front and back are laminated to make them a little more durable.  Sorry for the glare, it’s hard to photograph due to the laminate.

The one on the left is made with Melon Mambo, Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper and Petal Promenade DSP.  The Sentiment is from the stamp set Enjoy Life.

The middle one is Fresh Fig and the same DSP.  The sentiment is from a non- Stampin’ Up Set.  It suited the design.

The one on the right is Pretty in Pink (retired).  I loved how it matched with the Petal Promenade DSP.
